From Needle to Healed
Before You Sit
- 1Eat a full meal before your appointment — low blood sugar increases sensitivity.
- 2Stay hydrated in the days leading up; well-moisturized skin takes ink cleaner.
- 3Avoid alcohol and blood thinners 24 hours prior to reduce bleeding.
- 4Wear comfortable, loose clothing that gives easy access to the placement area.
- 5Bring a photo reference and an open mind — custom work evolves on the skin.
Healing the Ink
- 1Leave the protective film on for the time your artist specifies.
- 2Wash gently with unscented antibacterial soap and warm water — pat dry, don't rub.
- 3Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion 2–3 times daily once peeling begins.
- 4No soaking: skip baths, pools, and oceans until fully healed (2–4 weeks).
- 5Keep it out of direct sun; once healed, SPF daily to keep lines crisp for life.
